Ohio Father Law Perspectives

Ohio Laws Affecting Married, Divorced & Unmarried Fathers

Anne’s Welcome to Everyone

shutterstockwelcome_137454833It doesn’t matter who you are –information seeker, Mother peeking at the opponent’s play book, lawyer/competitor, hater, fan–I’m glad you’re here and I hope you stay.

Additional information about my legal practice, experience and credentials are found at my central website, https://www.LawFirmAnneHarvey.com.  I also have an unofficial website at htttps://www.LawyerAnneCHarvey.com, as well as the usual abundance of social media, Google+, LinkedIn, and listings in all the major legal directories.

I’ve been a lawyer longer than I have NOT been a lawyer.  I’ve practiced business litigation, government contracts, criminal law and appellate law.  I happened upon family law in 1991 after leaving the second traditional legal job I happened to despise and I’ve been at it ever since.
My first true father’s rights case arrived back in 1996 when I represented a father married to a schizophrenic with a toddler daughter.  After more than a year of scorched-earth litigation, we obtained the unthinkable for that county:  full custody! That toddler is now an incredibly well-adjusted college student. Since that first case, I’ve represented countless fathers against false accusations of domestic violence, the worst of which ended with the mother being declared a “vexatious litigator” under Ohio law.
At this point, I attract the very best and the very worst fathers to my practice, and I can spot the difference ten minutes into the first meeting.
Now I “cross-dress” and represent mothers as well.  I believe that all good parents must build up the other parent to the child and that the best mothers do this.  It is my vocation to help all parents find ways to thrive inside the American legal system even when it seems hopeless.
This blog is new for me and I see it as an informal opportunity to say what I think, when I think it, in the way I see fit.
In other words, it’s just another day at work.

  1. It’s nice to see that there are so many ‘Father’s Rights’ attorneys out there, however I have not had th epleasure to find many around Indiana who practice Law in Indianspolis. I was wondering if you know of any here that are accepting cases? As you mentioned above, I too was accused of Domestic Violence due to a child custody case, however thanks to the evidence I was found ‘not guilty’ However, the verdict did not help my custody case in any way as it has been stagnet for almost two years.
